YRSC Blog 4th May
At 10am when we got off the plane there were different accounts as to how much sleep everyone had had. Everyone was tired but happy enough. Passport control and customs were smooth so well done to all who arranged the visas for this trip. Dainfern College were waiting for us at the airport and we were soon on the 100 minute transfer to Camp Discovery. Johannesburg is cooler than the camp area. We stepped out of the air conditioned bus to a beautiful sunny African afternoon. There was a large team to welcome everyone. We were taken to the registration tent and soon had our camp rucksacks and hats and were shown to different dorm huts by the young group leaders.
The leaders ran the program for the rest of the day up to bedtime including the wonderful opening ceremony. What a place. It is going to be a great week.
